Terms of Use
Last updated: August 29, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Bracket Pad - Individual Entrepreneur Yevhen Troshchii, Odesa, Ukraine ("Bracket Pad", "we", "us") - covering the Bracket Pad app and the bracketpad.com website (the "Service"). By installing the app, making a purchase, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Bracket Pad is a tournament bracket maker for Android and iOS: it generates brackets in four formats (single elimination, double elimination, round robin, group stage with playoffs), records results, derives standings, and renders shareable images. The app works offline and has no user accounts. We may add, change, or remove features over time; where a change materially reduces what a paid purchase provides, we will say so in advance in the app’s release notes.
2. Eligibility
You must be old enough to hold the Apple or Google account you install the app with. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
3. The free tournament
The first tournament you create is free and full-featured: all four formats, 2–256 participants, and image sharing. It remains fully usable for as long as you keep it - recording results, sharing images and exporting are never taken away. Creating the first tournament uses the free slot; deleting that tournament does not restore it. Importing a tournament file someone shared with you does not use the slot.
4. Paid unlocks & billing
Creating tournaments beyond the free first one requires a purchase. All three products unlock the same capability - creating tournaments - for different spans:
- Tournament Pass - a one-time purchase covering 30 days. It is not a subscription: it ends by itself and never renews.
- Yearly - an auto-renewing subscription billed once a year.
- Lifetime - a one-time purchase with no end date.
Payment and renewal
Purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play and charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase. The Yearly plan renews automatically at the then-current price for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your store’s local currency, and may differ by country and over time.
Cancelling
Cancel the Yearly plan anytime in your Apple or Google account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. The Tournament Pass and Lifetime need no cancelling - they never renew.
When a pass or subscription ends
Nothing you created is taken away. Every tournament on your device stays readable and exportable, and recording results in the free tournament keeps working. Data never expires in Bracket Pad; an ended pass only means that creating new tournaments requires a new purchase.
Restoring
A visible Restore option in the app re-applies a purchase on a new device or after a reinstall, through your store account.
Refunds
Purchases are processed by Apple and Google, so refunds are governed by their policies and requested through them, not through us. Where local consumer law gives you a stronger right, that law applies.
5. Your content
The tournaments, names, and results you enter remain yours, and they stay on your device - we never receive them. You are responsible for what you enter, including having the right to use the names of the people and teams in your bracket, and for the images you choose to share and where you share them.
Your data lives on your hardware: keep the platform backup enabled or export tournament files for anything you cannot afford to lose. A lost or wiped device without a backup means lost data, and there is no server copy for us to restore.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use the Service to break the law or infringe anyone’s rights; do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or our providers; do not interfere with the Service or probe it for vulnerabilities without permission; do not resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the app itself; and do not reverse engineer the app except to the extent applicable law expressly permits it.
7. Our intellectual property
The Bracket Pad app, website, name, logo, and design are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service - they do not transfer ownership of anything to you. The brackets and images you create with the app are yours to use freely.
8. Third-party services
Bracket Pad relies on a small set of third parties: the Apple App Store and Google Play for distribution and payments, RevenueCat for recognizing and restoring purchases, Firebase Remote Config for the app’s minimum-version check, and your own Apple or Google account for device backups. Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers’ terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions. What each one receives is described in our Privacy Policy.
9. App stores
If you installed Bracket Pad from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us only, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Equivalent terms apply to Google in respect of installations from Google Play.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time - there is no account to close. We may restrict access to the Service where we must do so to comply with the law or to protect the Service and its users. Because the app runs on your device, ending these Terms does not remove the data stored there.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that data will never be lost - keep backups of what matters.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50.
This limit does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where the change is material, say so in the app’s release notes before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings there.
